General Rules Fall 2026

Rules for ALL Age Groups:

  • 5 runs per half inning
  • Standard ‘Mercy/Run Rules’ in effect: 15 after 3, 12 after 4, 10 after 5
  • Teams must have at least 7 players to start a game, or that game will be forfeited.

8 players/spots minimum are to be in the lineup card, so if a team  starts with only 7, they must take an out for the 8 th spot. A team starting with 8 does not have to take an out for the 9 th spot. If a team starts with 7 and loses  another play for some reason, the game shall be forfeited by that team at that time.

  • Home Teams determined by published schedules (no pre-game coin flip)
  • Coin flips WILL be used for the End of Season Tournament in October

         (except Championship Game)

  •  Lineups must be submitted to umpires, other coaches, and official scorekeeper
  • Home Team is official scorekeeper
  • Official Book can be kept on paper scorebook only - NO Game Changer.
  • Home plate umpire MUST be notified in advance of who the scorekeeper is.
  • Courtesy runners for Pitchers/Catchers only (does not apply to T-Ball, and 8U only allows for the Catcher) – if you have a sub, CR must be a sub; otherwise, CR must be player who made the last out (also applies to teams batting their entire lineup)
  • Tee Ball/8u - BYSA/TYSA will provide game balls.
  • 10u &  Up - Coaches provide their own game balls – these should be returned to those coaches at the end of the game
  • Game balls must be COR 0.47 Compression: 375 lbs.
  • Teams must notify TYSA/BYSA 2 hours in advance of game time, if they will not be able to play (forfeit). Otherwise, the forfeiting team will be responsible for

paying PAP fees for BOTH teams.

  •  Coach/Parent/Fan/Player Conduct: ZERO tolerance for violence, profanity, threats/threatening behavior!
  • If Parent/Fan is ejected, coach is ejected also - Coaches control your parents.
  • Umpires must warn the coach if one of his parents/fans is on the verge of being ejected, to allow the coach the chance to handle the situation himself/herself. After that warning, if coach cannot handle the situation, ejections may follow.
